Year of the Agent:
What Our Clients are Saying
Feedback from clients is always welcome and appreciated — especially when it's the good kind. Here is a warm testimonial concerning Frederick real estate from a client of CBI agent Thomas Pattie.

"Dear Thom Pattie,

It's hard to believe it's almost been two months since mom and dad's house on Ridge Road in Frederick, Md., sold. I want to personally, and on behalf of my brother, Chad, and parents, thank you for a great job as their selling agent. You did an absolutely fabulous job in a very tough market. It is stressful enough selling a house, but having to do it from Indiana could have been even more so for us, if it had not been for your vigilance and experience in selling homes.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for pricing the home accurately, keeping us updated on the market, showings, offers and helping to negotiate a fair price. Thanks for visiting the house weekly and sometimes more frequently to check on it to ensure there were no break-ins or appliance failures. Thanks for cleaning up the bathroom after another agent's client had an accident. I could go on, but suffice it to say you really did go above and beyond.

Feel free to use this message as a letter of recommendation. We truly wish and pray all God's very best in your pursuits, and are sure the care you provided to us will be a blessing to others who engage you as their agent.

Best Regards,
Rob Wachter"

Community Involvement Runs Deep at CBI
Coldwell Banker Innovations (CBI) constantly strives to give back to the community they serve — as well as provide aide to those around the country who need it. The generous agents at CBI have been hard at work this year on several philanthropic projects.

CBI Realtor Florence Wise has donated her time and talents to Habitat for Humanity of Washington County for 16 years, and served on the Board the full term of eight years. She also served on the Family Selection Committee as well as the Site Selection Committee, on which she remains a very active member. "I have lived all my life in Washington County and felt it was important to give my time to help benefit others less fortunate," Florence says. "It has been a very rewarding commitment to me in helping others. I have also made many new connections and friends through this association." The purpose of Habitat for Humanity is to provide affordable and safe housing for those families that are willing to be an active partner and work on the home that they will eventually purchase from Habitat.

In April, deadly tornados swept across Alabama, leaving hundreds dead and thousands injured. Through a drive headed by Pam Mease, CBI donated a truck full of supplies to the Alabama Relief Efforts to assist families recovering from the disaster.

In May, CBI was represented as a corporate sponsor at the 2011 True Grit Awards ceremony at Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown, Md. CBI provided financial support for a scholarship awarded to a student athlete from Heritage Academy. The True Grit Award is presented to a senior student athlete from each high school located in Washington County – both public and private, as well as a second-year student at Hagerstown Community College, who has demonstrated the ability to overcome hardship to become or remain a member of an athletic team.

Coldwell Banker Innovations sponsored the scholarship for Troy Cosner II Coldwell Banker Innovations sponsored the scholarship for Troy Cosner II, a basketball player and student at Heritage Academy. Troy suffers from a condition known as "Ehler's-Danlos" syndrome. This affects his connective tissue and results in severe headaches and neck problems, often requiring stabilizing the spine and head. After playing basketball as a freshman, Troy was unable to play his next two years but was determined to play his senior year. Troy not only played but excelled, helping lead his team to a 17–6 season.

Each True Grit Award recipient receives a $500 post-secondary scholarship, a plaque to commemorate this recognition, a photograph with the corporate sponsor, and a one-year membership to the Hagerstown YMCA. This 2011 True Grit Awards program continues the program that existed from 1975-1999 and which was re-started in 2003. It is sponsored jointly by the Hagerstown YMCA, the Herald-Mail Newspapers, the Washington County Convention and Visitors' Bureau, and the Washington County Public Schools.

CBI continues to help support the people and organizations of their community through fundraisers, donations and volunteerism. Visit our website and blog for more information on our community involvement, as well as our Maryland real estate, West Virginia real estate, Virginia real estate and Pennsylvania real estate.
